For us, 10 November 2022 will go down as the day our dreams came true. We launched the ADHFP Initiative to the applause of a supportive audience and the gratitude of underserved communities. We would like to thank everyone that supported us with their presence.

The ADHFP Launch featured an unveiling of flagship PHCs in Delta and Bauchi States where dilapidating structures were refurbished to NPHCDA standards. The facilities were also equipped with resources to address challenges such as the unavailability of essential medicines, water, power, and equipment, with plans underway to provide much-needed human resources (nurses, doctors, and other essential health workers.

Here’s a video showing the transformation Model PHC in Boji Boji-Agbor, Ika South LGA of Delta State, and Jumberi PHC in Madara, Katagum LGA of Bauchi State, have undergone.

In addition to the 9.1 billion Naira raised in donations from our supportive partners, we secured another funding commitment to the tune of 2.8 billion Naira following a generous pledge by Mr. Jim Ovia (Chairman Zenith Bank Group), the Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe Foundation and Ms. Zouera Youssoufou (CEO Aliko Dangote Foundation). We now have the resources to take on:

  • 44 PHCs in Kano State (courtesy of the Aliko Dangote Foundation)
  • 25 PHCs in Delta state courtesy of Mr. Jim Ovia
  • 23 PHCs courtesy of the Aig Imoukouede Foundation (18 of which are to be in Edo State)
  • 25 PHCs in Rivers State courtesy of the Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe Foundation
  • 2 PHCs in Bauchi State courtesy of the Chigari Foundation and Ms. Zouera Youssoufou (1 PHC each)

While this is a big step forward, we have successfully raised only 12% of the resources required for the ADHFP program. The goal of the program is to revitalize 774 PHCs across all local governments in Nigeria, implying that we still have a long way to go. For this reason, we invite organizations and individuals to contribute their resources towards achieving this goal. Every contribution counts and you can pool resources together with other organizations and individuals to adopt a PHC.
