WHY PRIMARY HEALTHCARE?
Strengthening primary health centres is key to improving Nigeria’s health indicators, currently among the worst in Africa and the rest of the world. The main goal is to establish at least one global-standard PHC in each of the 774 local government areas in the country.
THE PROBLEM ADHFP SOLVES
Growing inequality, poverty, and the emergence of complex disease patterns combined with financial pressures highlighted the critical importance of a resilient health system.
Only 1 in 5 of 30,000 healthcare facilities are fully functional
Only 1 in 4 children receive all recommended vaccines
Less than 1 in 5 primary healthcare facilities have the listed essential drugs in stock
At only 4%, budgetary allocation for health falls far below the 15% benchmark

THE OPPORTUNITY
ADHFP aims to strengthen national healthcare systems by establishing 774 PHC facilities, either existing centres or built from scratch, to alleviate systemic problems that stem from unequal access to affordable quality healthcare.
SOLUTION
Our goal of establishing 774 PHCs will be reached through collaboration and cooperation between ourselves, corporations, philanthropists, and investors.
STATUS
Having concluded the pre-pilot phase, ADHFP is now in the pilot phase where 17 PHCs will be revitalized. We are engaging with potential adopters and key stakeholders to help us meet our goals.

Impacts of ADHFP
The Adopt-A-Healthcare-Facility Programme (ADHFP) was launched with the goal of establishing a primary healthcare facility (PHC) in each of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas (LGAs) to provide low-cost health services to the poor and vulnerable at reasonable standards.
